Two Chinese musicians, an artist, two Brits, and a dancer might not be a typical formula for culinary success; nevertheless it was from this ensemble that Fish Nation was born. When it comes to food, Beijingers tend to think they have the best culinary tradition in the world, their attitude towards British food can be summed up as disdain, combined

with some pity for the poor Brits who live off such bland mush, with one exception: fish and chips.
It was against this background that we had our eureka moment, China didn't have a fish and chip shop. That is when we opened the Fish Nation chip shop.

Since we opened back in Spring 2004, the chip shop has become a quick favorite for fish and chips
at teatime, as well as a preferred hangout for night owls with the late-night munchies.

We serve thick hand-cut chips and traditional deep-fried beer-batter cod, and are open until 4am on weekends and 2am through the week. Wash down fish and chips with a Woodpecker cider or one of our budget-friendly summer cocktails, served in funky plastic cups for easy take away and minimal spillage.
